What Our Patients Say: A Real Osteopathy Experience at Best Osteopathy Vancouver

A satisfied patient choosing a happy face after osteopathic treatment at Best Osteopathy Vancouver

At Best Osteopathy, patient experience is the measure of everything we do. We do not count sessions or rush appointments. We listen, assess thoroughly, and treat the whole person — not just the area that hurts.

Recently, one of our patients reached out to share her experience after a course of treatment with Mehrbod Atshani. Her words capture something we hear often but never tire of — the feeling of finally being heard, properly assessed, and genuinely helped.

“New to Osteopathy, I am thankful for Mehrbod’s approach to treatment and the opportunity to be supported in this way. He uses a partnership approach, helping build the foundations of healing in areas where I have been enduring pain and restriction for decades.

I was referred for an Osteopath assessment in follow up to an acupuncture appointment. Osteopath is a field I had little to no experience of until my treatment with Mehrbod. I was prompted to visit following a fall that impacted areas where I was already carrying pain, discomfort and reduced mobility but had no integrated treatment for this in the past.

The approach to treatment is supportive, holistic, professional and empowering. He communicates clearly, explains the approach and checks in throughout treatment. It has been important to me that I am part of the process, especially being new to this type of treatment. Appointment times are flexible, fit to my work schedule and booking is easy.

In offering his guidance, he offers manageable consistent steps between treatments to help integrate and maintain momentum. Generous with his time and respectful of budget, he is available through the patient support app, to answer questions and concerns if they come up between sessions. Mehrbod empowers through openly sharing his knowledge and expertise; this combined with empathy and care for work being done is helping ease pain and increase mobility!”

What This Kind of Care Looks Like in Practice

What R.E.M. describes is not unusual at Best Osteopathy — it is the standard we hold ourselves to. Every new patient receives a thorough health history and full structural assessment before any treatment begins. We take the time to understand not just where you hurt, but why — looking at your posture, movement patterns, history of injuries, stress, and lifestyle to build a picture of what is actually driving your symptoms.

Treatment is always explained as it happens. You are never a passive recipient. We believe patients who understand what is being treated and why tend to get better results, and we make education a central part of every appointment.

A Whole-Body Approach to Pain

Manual osteopathy takes a structural-functional view of the body. Where one area is restricted or compensating, another area is almost always affected. A stiff thoracic spine can drive neck pain and headaches. A twisted pelvis can cause hip, knee, or foot pain. Chronic jaw tension can trigger migraines. By finding and treating the root cause — rather than just the symptom — osteopathic treatment tends to produce results that last.

The techniques we use are gentle and non-invasive: soft tissue release, joint mobilization, myofascial release, craniosacral therapy, and visceral manipulation. Treatment is performed fully clothed on a comfortable table, and is adapted to each patient’s presentation and tolerance at every session.

What Patients at Best Osteopathy Commonly Treat

Our patients come to us with a wide range of presentations, including:

  • Chronic back and neck pain that has not resolved with other treatments
  • Sciatica and nerve pain radiating into the legs or arms
  • Headaches and migraines, particularly those linked to neck tension
  • TMJ disorder and jaw pain
  • Pain during pregnancy and postpartum recovery
  • Sports injuries and post-surgical rehabilitation
  • Stress, anxiety, and fatigue with physical manifestations
  • Postural problems from desk work, repetitive strain, or old injuries

Many patients, like R.E.M., have been managing their pain for years without lasting relief before finding osteopathy. For those patients in particular, seeing real change can feel significant.
