College of Registered Manual Osteopaths (CRMO) | Best Osteopathy Vancouver

All practitioners at Best Osteopathy are registered members of the College of Registered Manual Osteopaths (CRMO). This is an important credential for patients to understand, because it directly affects both the quality of care you receive and whether your treatment is covered by your extended health plan.

What Is the College of Registered Manual Osteopaths?

The College of Registered Manual Osteopaths (CRMO) is a national nonprofit organization based in Thornhill, Ontario, registered as an Indigenous organization. Its mandate is to protect both the profession and the public by ensuring that only qualified health professionals are granted the title of Registered Osteopathic Manual Practitioner (ROMP).

To become a CRMO member, a practitioner must successfully complete CRMO’s written and practical board examinations. Ongoing membership requires adherence to CRMO’s professional and ethical standards.

Why CRMO Membership Matters for Patients

CRMO membership is your assurance that your practitioner meets a recognized national standard of training and practice. It also has a direct and practical benefit: most extended health plans in Canada that cover manual osteopathy require your practitioner to be a CRMO member in order to process your claim.

Extended health plans that currently accept claims from CRMO members include Pacific Blue Cross, ClaimSecure, The Johnston Group, Desjardins, Green Shield Canada, Empire Life, Manulife Financial, Manion Wilkins and Associates, Equitable Life, and others. CRMO actively works to expand this list by educating insurers about the profession, which is why coverage has grown significantly in recent years.

Our Practitioners and CRMO

All Best Osteopathy practitioners hold CRMO membership and carry the ROMP designation. This means your treatment at any of our four Metro Vancouver locations is eligible for reimbursement through most extended health plans.

We provide official receipts after each session that you can submit directly to your insurer. No referral from a doctor is required.
